Carter McKaughan is the founder and principal of the Montlake Group, an advisory firm focused on complex programs in technology, industrial capacity, and strategic resilience since 2019. Now based in London, he works with organizations operating in sectors where global competition, advanced systems integration, and significant operational risk converge. His practice centers on supporting leaders and institutions through sensitive, high-impact initiatives that demand clarity, coordinated action, and long-term architectural thinking.

Carter is a graduate of the Lakeside School in Seattle and previously attended the United States Military Academy, West Point. Academically, he is interested in the privatization of warfare in the 21st Century and its effect on sovereignty.
